Communicating With Your List

You have been building your list for some time now.  Perhaps you have 100 subscribers to your list, or maybe you have 500 or 5000.

You have heard that some internet marketers can earn up to one dollar for every name on their list, per month, but you aren’t near that.  Why?

One of the most important things to know and remember about list building is that list building is not just about assembling a collection of emails.  If that were the case,  you could buy a list of one million and make one million per month, right?

So the key with list building is not the volume of subscribers, but the relationship with those subscribers.  Sure, as your volume of subscribers goes up, your revenue goes up, holding the relationship with your subscribers constant.

The mathematical formula for revenue from your list is:
List size x relationship with list x quality of list = revenue from list.

It is just that simple.  But it is multiplicative, not additive in nature.  No matter how large one or two of the elements of your revenue formula is, if any of the elements is = to 0, your total revenue will be 0.

If you have a relationship quantity of 0, then your revenue will be 0.

How do you develop relationship with your subscribers?

You must communicate with your subscribers.  Note I say subscribers, not list.  You must communicate with your subscribers personally, not as a group.  Sure, your auto responder will go out to the entire list, but as much as is possible, personalize the list.  Use the subscribers’ name.  Write the email to each person individually by using the word ‘you’- never, ‘my list’ or ‘you guys’ or ‘my subscribers’.

- Ask your subscribers questions.
- Ask them what they want to learn about.
- Encourage them to ask questions.
- Answer the questions in your auto responder campaign.

Your subscribers will begin to feel a sense of community.  They will begin to relate to you personally–hence a relationship.

As your relationship with your subscribers grows, so will your revenue.

If you want to learn to make more sales from email marketing, it is crucial you follow a proven formula. Here’s the one I use in my email marketing:

Get Your Subscribers To Open Your Email

If your subscribers never open your email, well, you’re a dead duck. This is the first thing you have to overcome. And you can do it by writing an intriguing, benefit-laden subject line that gets your subscribers wanting to open your email right away.

Give Out Free Content

Don’t continually pitch products to your list, if you can help it. You must send out content to your list at no cost on a consistent basis to build trust with them. If your subscribers don’t see any value in staying on your list, you guessed it, they will hit the unsubscribe link sooner rather than later.

Get Your Subscribers To Click Through To Your Links

The next step after your subscribers open your email and read it is to click on your links. This is important because if your subscribers don’t see the need to click on your links, you won’t make any money from your products or your recommendations. Always include a call-to-action in your emails.

Offer Bonuses To Your Products

If you are promoting your own product, or even if you are promoting an affiliate product, always give out free bonuses that accompany the product. This increases the perceived value of your offer and you will make more sales of your product.

Developing Good Blog Topics

Blogs often fail because their owners run out of topics to write about, and in a fit of frustration and writer’s block, they give up. People have trouble coming up with ideas oftentimes, and that’s okay. It doesn’t say anything bad about your ability as a blogger. It just means that you need to come up with a new method of developing ideas.

Here’s a good writer’s best kept secret: when you run out of ideas of your own, look to other people for inspiration. The following are great tips for developing blog topics when your own creativity well comes up dry:

Developing Good Blog Topics #1: Go to the Search Engines

I myself have found Google to be very accommodating in providing me with blog topics. Run a search that focuses on your blog’s niche. For example, let’s say that your blog’s niche is tattoos. You may consider typing the following phrases into the search engine:

- How do I get a tattoo?
- I’m having problems with my tattoo
- need help with my tattoo

Look through the results and see what you find. People read blogs in order to find out information. “How to”-type topics are great, and this is a great way to find them.

Developing Good Blog Topics #2: Join a Forum

The majority of Web Sites today have forums. Join forums that focus on your blog’s niche and see what people are talking about, and then make them the focus of your blog. I’ve found that this method usually provides weeks’ worth of blog topics.

Developing Good Blog Topics #3: Check Out Other Blogs

This doesn’t mean that you should copy their topics. Remember, one of the main ingredients in developing a strong blog readership is to provide topics and content that are unique. However, reading other peoples’ blogs usually provides inspiration and often promotes the chance to write about a topic from a fresh perspective that people will enjoy. Again, don’t copy other peoples’ blogs!

Developing Good Blog Topics #4: Watch the News

Local and national news shows are always abreast of the latest topics and trends in the world. They also provide a plethora of blogging ideas to choose from. You may not always find information that suits your blog’s niches; however, you should still stay tuned in to the news to make sure you don’t miss out on the chance to write about a topic before others do.

Developing Good Blog Topics #5: Ask Your Readers

A good blogger always provides a way for his readers to contact him. It’s a great way to build relationships with readers and to keep them coming back. If you feel like you’re running out of blog topics, then ask your readers what they would like to read about.

When you go in search of fresh topic ideas it is important that you do not plagiarize. For starters, it’s unethical, and secondly, it means that your blog is not cutting edge and will not stand out from the many other mediocre blogs on the Internet.

It’s common for people to run out of topic ideas for their blog.

When this happens to you, don’t panic and don’t give up on your blog. Instead, get creative and let the ideas of other people inspire you.

Viral, Viruses, Infections, not pleasant subjects for most situations. Unless you’re discussing Viral Marketing! Viral marketing techniques can help you create huge increases in both targeted traffic and customers for your website. In this article we’ll briefly discuss some of the most effective methods of Viral Marketing.

Before we discuss the different Viral Marketing Techniques, let’s clarify what Viral Marketing is. Viral Marketing has nothing to do with computer viruses, causing damage to someone’s computer or property, or using deception to create traffic and customers. Viral Marketing includes using legitimate techniques like viral opt-in email, viral ebooks and reports, viral ecourses, and many more!

Let’s discuss some great examples of Viral Marketing?

Free Viral eBooks and eReports

Jimmy D. Brown, the Master of Viral eBook Marketing, has created an Internet Business Empire using free and paid-for viral eBooks and eReports! He creates eBooks and eReports and then allows his affiliates and customers the ability to brand them with their own website and affiliate links. His website, List & Traffic, offers a monthly membership where he creates a great new eBook product each month. He then allows his members to brand the website links with their own affiliate program links. You can find out more about his program here.

Creating Viral eBooks and eReports and distributing them to your affiliates and website visitors is one of the most effective ways to create viral traffic explosion on your website!

Free Viral Opt-in Ezines

Viral Opt-in Ezines are another great Viral Marketing technique that uses a very powerful combination. Opt-in Email newsletters or ezines combined with word-of-mouth marketing. The ezine can be HTML-based, email-based, or website or BLOG-based. The key element that makes the ezine viral is getting your subscribers involved. Allowing your subscribers to participate in discussions, creating content, etc. can create a viral word-of-mouth traffic stampede to your website!

Free Viral Reprint Articles

Viral Reprint Articles are short articles that you allow other webmasters, affiliates, and ezine publishers to reprint or use on their website for free. The only rule for the use of your viral article is that they have to leave your resource box at the bottom of your article. This resource box includes your website link. This creates a viral effect because your viral article gets passed around the Internet on websites and ezines.

Free Viral eCourses

Last but not least, there’s Viral eCourses. Viral eCourses are divided into a series of articles and lessons and are published on an autoresponder. When a person e-mails the autoresponder address, he will receive his first lesson via e-mail within seconds or a few minutes. Then usually every one or two days they will receive the another lesson until the e-course is complete. I’ve seen e-courses that have ranged from one lesson clear up to 52 lessons long. The most common are 7 lesson or 7 day e-courses. Viral eCourses are extremely popular! Allow other webmasters to use your viral eCourse full of useful information, and watch the highly-targeted web traffic epidemic occur.

In this article, we have covered several Viral Marketing techniques. But we haven’t even scratched the surface! Use your creativity and come up with some other great ideas. Just don’t discount the power of using Viral Marketing!
