If you have completed your research on what market you want to sell to you should now have a good idea of the products that you are looking for so the next article in the series on how to dropship online is to find out where to get them from.

One way of doing this is to actually
find out the manufacturers of your products and contact them all directly to inquire as to whether they have a dropshipping service of there own.

In most cases they won’t so you will have to find a wholesaler that does. Thankfully you won’t need to ring around talking to hundreds of wholesalers as we can now use the internet to help us to find reputable wholesalers that have dropshipping services.

The first thing you should do is to type in terms related to dropshipping in your chosen search engine, such as “drop ship” or “dropshipping”, and then add the name of the product you are searching for to it. Doing this will more often than not bring up some results. For now however just note them down and move on to the next step.

The next step is to join a forum based around dropshipping. Here you will find lots of information that you can put into good use but more importantly you will find out a lot of companies that aren’t recommended or are slated as having a poor service. You will also pick up the odd gem although you may find some members of these forums like to keep their best dropshippers to themselves, which I suppose is understandable.

Finally if you want a larger choice and don’t want to risk falling victim to a scam then the easiest and safest way is to join a dropshipping directory. This may mean paying a fee to be granted access but it is worth it provided you stick to the more reliable directories.

Each company that offers dropshipping works a little differently which can lead to you encountering perhaps the biggest barrier you will come across – cost. Some companies may ask for a monthly membership fee or an upfront payment until you have made so many sales for them. Others may require you to have a business license before you can use them.

Of course this may not be the case at all as you may find a company that is willing to let you use there services without any up front cost to find, allowing you to get started immediately.

If you don’t use a reputable directory then just go on the side of caution as although they are in the minority there are scams out there.
