Affiliate Marketing With Blogs

Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money from your blog, and the fact that it’s almost completely hands-free (or autopilot as they say) makes it all the more appealing to a lot of bloggers. Now there are the normal affiliates who make a couple hundred dollars a month, then there are the “Super Affiliates”, a title which is usually given to affiliates making a five figure monthly income or more.

Today I’m going to review a product called “Super Affiliate Blogger” by Gobala Krishnan that promises to reveal how normal affiliates can upgrade themselves to “Super Affiliate” status using WordPress blogs and a few tactics. You can see the actual page here: Super Affiliate Blogger

(1) Overall Impression

I’ve seen a couple of “sale page” sites selling all sorts of things, and the first thing you’ll notice with Super Affiliate Blogger is the long sales page explaining what the product is about and why you should buy it. However unlike most sales pages this one is relatively clean and easy to read. In fact, which browsing through the sales page I found some rather interesting tips about affiliate marketing with blogs.

It sure helps that Gobala has some screenshots to prove how much money he’s personally making from affiliate programs. At least he seems to be walking the walk and not just talking big. I also noticed some rather simple but attractive WordPress themes that Gobala calls “Super Affiliate Pro Themes”; apparently they were specifically designed for affiliate marketers who want to use WordPress blogs and PPC advertising with Google AdWords or similar programs.

(2) The E-book Guide and Tips

I’m not new to blogging, but I found the 168-page e-book guide rather revealing, especially when Gobala starts talking about creating landing pages with your blog to maximize all the traffic you’re getting from Google AdWords and other advertising methods.

To my surprise the tips were easy to understand, and Gobala really writes in simple language that I’m sure anyone can understand. The first section of the e-book is great is you’re totally new to blogging, but if you just want the advanced tips you should jump ahead to the meat of the content about affiliate marketing, tracking links, landing pages and building an opt-in list.

(3) Super Affiliate Themes

I didn’t get it at first, I mean how different can these themes be from all the other WordPress themes out there? So i tested a few and I realize why Gobala says these themes are built for affiliate marketing / PPC advertising. There are a few “landing page” templates in there that makes this theme so flexible that you can basically show a different layout to normal visitors, and a more streamlined landing page to visitors coming from paid advertising.

(4) Link Tracking and List Building

There are also two WordPress plugins included in this system, one for tracking and cloaking affiliate links, and the other for creating opt-in forms (subscribe forms) on your blog. Both work perfectly out of the box and I have no complaints here. I admit I have seen more advanced link tracking systems out there but these are usually expensive and do not integrate with WordPress as easy as Gobala’s system does.

(5) My Conclusion and Recommendation

I recommend that you get a copy of Super Affiliate Blogger by Gobala Krishnan is you plan to make affiliate marketing the main monetization model for your blog. The guide is good for both newbies and non-newbies (is that a word) as it covers everything you need to know about blogging, WordPress, affiliate marketing and PPC advertising.

Active Income Vs. Passive Income

Google AdSense has been talked about, hyped about and even criticized over the past year. At the same time, WordPress has emerged as one of the leading blogging platforms used by almost all A-list bloggers. What do these two have in common?

I just came across Gobala Krishnan’s “WordPress AdSense System” course that combines the two, showing you how to create “autopilot sites” that make money from AdSense:

Here’s my review of the product, and why you should get yourself a copy.

(1) Overall Impression

When I read that this product has been selling well since 2006, I was pretty relieved. That’s because most ebook guides fizzle out and get outdated within six months. Gobala actually updates this guide from time to time to keep current with all the changes taking place in the blogging world. In fact according to Gobala the only changes he makes are the screenshots and URLs – the tactics and strategies he mentions in the book don’t need to be updates are they are time-tested and will work for anyone, for the foreseeable future.

(2) The E-book Guide and Tips

Flipping through the main e-book guide (over 150 pages), I find that the earlier sections are perfect for the absolute newbie. It explains in detail common blogging terms, how blogging works, and what to expect when starting a blog. Then Gobala goes into more technical, advanced stuff including how to transform a WordPress blog into a static website, how to optimize your blog, and also how to get traffic to your blog.

Even if you’re not new to Google AdSense or WordPress, you can find a lot of useful information in here.

(3) AdSense-ready WordPress Themes

This was what actually caught my eye in the first place – 30 super-cool looking WordPress themes that are “AdSense ready”. This means that the AdSense codes have already been placed in the theme in strategic locations. All you need to do is enter your AdSense publisher IDs and you’re done.

I think the theme alone are worth more than what the entire system costs, and by looking at them I’m sure they can generate quite decent click-throughs for your blog if you were using them. After all with Google AdSense you make more money when you (1) get more traffic or (2) get more clicks.

(4) Keyword Research Tools

A simple but useful keyword research tool is also included in WordPress AdSense System. Keyword research is extremely important if you’re trying to build auto-pilot AdSense blogs since most of your traffic will be from search engines like Google. You need to make sure you’re targeting the correct keywords before you write your first blog post!

The package also includes “180 Profitable AdSense Niche Keywords”, which is a heavy MS Excel sheet containing thousands of keywords Gobala has researched before. Of course you cannot depend on this data alone, but it’s a good place to kickoff some ideas of your own. There are literally thousands of niche markets out there you can tap into that are probably easier to make money in that the niche you’re in right now.

(5) My Conclusion and Recommendation

I’m pretty satisfied with WordPress AdSense System by Gobala Krishnan. I’ve bought a few such courses before but Gobala’s course doesn’t disappoint. In fact I found it easy to read and follow. There are also a lot of video tutorials you can watch where Gobala shows you step-by-step, exactly what you need to do.

WordPress Adsense System – Make Money Blogging Now!

Once in a while someone actually takes the time and effort to put together a teaching manual that is a definitive guide to a subject.

Super Affiliate BloggerSomething that’s not going to sell because it’s marketed well, but because of the word of mouth that is generated because it’s just so darned good.

It’s even better when that someone is a true PRO at the subject.

Gobala Krishan manages to go one step further too, he just happens to be able to put it all together in a way that is understandable on different levels.

So not only is the “advanced” stuff useful for affiliate marketers and bloggers who already know the basics, but he also manages to show “newbies” how to get to that stage without “burn out” from “tech speak”…

That I’m impressed goes without saying, but I’ve gotta also “fess up” and admit that I’m jealous!

This is the kind of book I would love to be able to put my own name to, a book to be proud of, simply as it’s going to help so many people achieve their blogging dreams!

The “manual” is 217 pages long and covers absolutely everything you need to know to make a living from blogging!

Here’s just some highlights that I’ve picked out: -

  • Overcoming the fear of “techie” stuff (pg 9)
  • Why Use WordPress (pg 12)
  • Installing WP, Themes and Plugins (pg 20+, 31 & 33)
  • Configuring a static frontpage (pg 35)
  • Keyword Research (pg 40+)
  • Automating future posts (pg 38)
  • On Site Optimization & Permalinks (pg 49 & pg 50)
  • Google SiteMaps (pg 58)
  • Understanding Pagerank and Alexa (pg 61)
  • Link Building Tactics (pg 65)
  • Using Trackbacks (pg 70)
  • The Best Link Strategies (pg 65 thru 91)
  • Affiliate Marketing Crash Course (pg 92 thru 108)
  • Choosing the Best Affiliate Programs (pg 109 thru 125)

and that’s not even half way through the book!!!

It goes on to cover everything you could possibly need to build a solid blogging income: -

  • landing pages
  • using PPC
  • cloaking and tracking
  • building opt-in lists
  • outsourcing
  • more “massive” traffic tactics
  • Social Bookmarking

and it’s rounded off with an excellent conclusion to pull it all together, as you’d expect from a Pro Gobala.

Now you’re probably thinking “OMG! How can I possibly take all that in and use it?!?”

Well, Gobala’s got you covered on that one as well, he’s included a step by step action plan to lead you through it and make sure you can get to grips with it in “bite size” chunks…

He knows how daunting the “Big Picture” can be, so he’s broken it down in to the simple steps you need to take to get there.

I did mention he’s not just a clever chap, but a nice one too didn’t I..?

He actually wants you to succeed for simple reason that helping you to do so will undoubtedly mean that you recommend his book to other people, so it’s a real win win for him to make you a success! :)
